support for girls who are victims of trafficking and exploitation
Sexual exploitation: a tragic reality affecting Nepalese children
Nepal is one of the countries most affected by sex trafficking and child labor: thousands of children between the ages of 10 and 17 are potential victims of violence and abuse every year.
Approximately 40% of Nepalese girls marry before the age of 18, with inevitable consequences for their education and future. At the same time, over 164,000 children work in dangerous, often illegal conditions, putting their safety at risk and compromising their growth.
28,6%

Our partner: Chhori
Chhori, meaning “daughter,” is a nonprofit organization founded in 2007 in Kathmandu, recognized nationally as a leading anti-trafficking center. It offers safe shelter, psychosocial support, medical and legal assistance, educational programs, and vocational training. Since 2007, over 1,000 girls and young women have been rescued from exploitation and forced prostitution thanks to the work of Chhori.
Reception, protection and education
The introduction of Protection4Kids in Nepal aimed to strengthen the shelter’s capabilities and launch training courses on personal hygiene and the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, essential tools for empowering the most vulnerable girls.
Support directed to the shelter
The project then aimed to strengthen the operational heart of the center, the Kathmandu shelter, allocating €5,000 to provide food, education, clothing, and support for the center’s key professionals. Thanks to this intervention, 12 girls were able to enjoy four months of full accommodation, with guaranteed daily services and educational support.
Mental health and childhood trauma
To respond to the complex traumas experienced by the girls, a partnership was established with EMDR Italia, introducing the EMDR methodology recognized by the WHO. The center’s psychologist has completed a Master’s degree in training, ensuring advanced clinical tools for psychological support and structured interventions over time.
