Junior Camp’s Rudolph Mission: over 3,000 toys collected for families in need around the world. A solidarity initiative that crosses borders, uniting donors, associations and communities in Northern Italy.
Junior Camp, a sports club based in Cadoneghe (PD), launched the “Rudolph Mission“, a toy collection project that has proved to be extraordinarily successful. The main objective of Mission Rudolph was to bring Christmas to all families, especially those in financial difficulty, during a time of complex global challenges. The initiative aimed to spread joy and hope to many boys and girls, demonstrating the importance of unity, collaboration and mutual support.
Thanks to the enthusiasm and dynamism of the boys and girls leading Junior Camp, a solidarity network was created which involved various local institutions in northern Italy. The collection campaign saw the participation of 26 entities, including the missionary group of Villaregia, which undertook the responsibility of distributing toys to developing countries, underlining the importance of sharing and solidarity at a global level.
The Rudolph Mission involved both sports clubs and municipalities, which played a fundamental role in the organisation and success of the initiative. Several locations were designated as collection points, where the community could donate gifts for families in need.
Protection4kids was one of the many Charity Partners who played a crucial role in receiving the collected gifts and distributing them to families in need.
To get in touch with families in financial difficulty in Castelfranco Veneto, we contacted the Municipality of Castelfranco Veneto which in turn distributed the contacts of our Protection4kids foundation to the families identified and deemed to be “in financial difficulty“, thus giving these same families the possibility of asking for our support to meet the need for basic necessities such as long-life foods, hygiene items and warm clothing. Some of these families already receive a small amount of support from the city’s CARITAS, but very often this support is not enough for all family members.
For this reason, in addition to the basic support that we regularly provide, Protection4kids also thought to include these families in the ‘Mission Rudolph‘ project. More than 40 girls and boys, aged from a few months to 17 years old, received at least one gift this Christmas!
The Mission ended on Saturday 16 December, with the help of hundreds of donors and 26 partners, including sports clubs and municipalities in northern Italy. During the collection, over 3,000 toys arrived, which in turn, reached more than 1,000 needy families in Italy and abroad, bringing a pinch of joy during the holidays.
Protection4Kids managed to help 22 families from Castellana with basic necessities and gifts for their boys and girls for their 2023 Christmas.
